Today was interesting. You both woke up on the wrong side of the bed or something because you fought from the moment you woke up until the moment you went to bed. We had about a two hour break when you were napping and a two hour break when Grandpa and Grandma Allen were here for dinner. Besides those few hours the whole day was spent trying to keep you two from battling it out. You fought over who got to push the button on the DVD player, which resulted in us watching the previews three times. You fought over what we should have for lunch and where we should eat lunch. You fought over who got to sit next to Mommy and who got to pick up Kaylee's binky. You fought over who got the green cup of juice with the green lid and then who got the green cup of juice with the blue lid. It was a very long day. The majority of the fighting was done over Toy Story figurines. It all started last night when we went to Target to get Kaylee her medicine. Target had the biggest Toy Story Display I've ever seen. There were more Buzz toys than a little boy would know what to do with. There were two toys that caught your eye. The first was the 3 foot Buzz Lightyear Action Figure that dances and talks when remote controlled. He was $120! Hunter pushed the try me button a million times. He was laughing and repeating everything Buzz said. I was having a serious case of deja-vu, since Buzz was behind a glass case. It seemed very familiar to the Spike incident. Then Hunter picked up the box, which was bigger than he was, and began dragging it towards the cart saying, "Thank You Mommy! Thank You!!!"
I had to tell him repeatedly that the Buzz was too expensive and that he'd have to ask Santa to get it for him for Christmas. About the time we got the giant Buzz back on the shelf Connor found a box that contained all of the characters from Toy Story. This box was only $40! We had the same Santa talk with Connor. Mommy and Daddy were feeling pretty sorry for you two. You are so spoiled, but you're so cute. So we let you pick out a figurine 2 pack that was only $7. You each picked out a pack. Hunter immediately picked the Buzz and the Woody pack. Connor at first wanted the dinosaur and the dog. I was worried he would be upset he didn't have a Buzz or a Woody like Hunter when we got home so I helped him change his mind to the Woody and the Horse. You carried those little figurines with you everywhere. You even fell asleep clutching them to your chest. So...Grammy brought you each another pack today. She gave Hunter the pack with the Jessie and the horse. She gave Connor the pack with the Buzz and the robot. That's when the trouble really started. Connor wanted the Jessie. Hunter said the Jessie was his....and so it continued all day. Every time I threatened to take them all away you would pull it together and be nice for just long enough for me to forget and then you'd start up again. As it stands... Connor is asleep with five figurines on his chest, and Hunter has three. Hunter ended up with the Jessie. I was going to take the Jessie and hide it tonight while you slept so we didn't have this issue in the morning, but I would have had to pry Hunters fingers off of it, and I'm sure that would wake him up. So.. hopefully, tomorrow you're in a better mood. Daddy made a good point though. He said that just because you're twins doesn't mean you want to spend all day every day together and that maybe when you start fighting like that we should send you separate directions for the day and give you a break from one another. It makes sense.
Other fun things you're doing: You've learned how to open the front door. Daddy was mowing the lawn, Kaylee was sleeping, I was doing the dishes, and you were reading books in your bedroom- or so I thought. The next thing I know I looked out the window and you were running around the backyard. After a thorough investigation we found that Hunter was finally tall enough to unlock the front door and he was the culprit. So we had to buy some child proof door knobs finally.
You talk all the time. Sometimes to the point where Mommy has to ask you to take a break. I taught you how to whisper, so on the days when you really have a lot to say Mommy has you whisper it. This really helps Kaylee sleep. She can't stand to miss anything you two are doing so we have to try to be quiet during her nap times otherwise she'll wake up just to watch you.
We're getting ready to hit potty training hard. Hunter is finally ready. He wanted to potty so bad on his own the other day. He kept telling me he needed to use the potty. We'd go back to the potty and he'd sit down and push, grunt, and squeeze his penis. He thinks that he has to squeeze it to get the potty to come out. I try to tell him to just relax to which he replies, "please Mommy, please." I wish he could understand that I can't help him potty. Finally, he pushed and squeezed enough until a tiny, tiny trickle of potty came out. He jumped up, threw his hands in the air, and yelled, "I DID IT!" Cutest moment ever. We had to run outside and tell Daddy and call everyone we knew so he could tell them on the phone that he went pee pee in the potty.
I know there is so much that I've already forgotten. I'm so glad it's Summer now so I can write you more often.
