Cupcake

Hello my little cupcakes!
It has been a week filled with cupcake talk. It started when Kaylee finally fit into the cupcake outfit that Aunt Leanne bought her. I've been waiting and waiting for that outfit to fit.

Out of a dozen pictures- this was the best it got... She moves around like crazy lately!

Even a cupcake on the jeans- cutest jeans ever!

I love how cute her little butt is! She even has cupcakes on her socks, but she wouldn't hold her feet still!

You saw the cupcakes on her outfit and started pointing them out. You continued to point them out all day. By coincidence the pajamas I put on Kaylee had a cupcake on them too. You made sure to show me. I told you we would make cupcakes soon. Every day since I've said that we've seen a cupcake around the house, primarily on Kaylee's outfits! So, tonight was the night. We made cupcakes. You two helped me the whole time. You did a pretty good job.

Look at the concentration...

In an effort to make sure we all got fair turns at dumping the ingredients in we put in 1/3 cup too much water. Then when I opened the fridge we were one egg short! I'm sure there are people reading this right now that are cringing, but I can assure you that they were very delicious cupcakes. It must have been because they were made with love.

Could he open his mouth any wider?

Skipping the frosting all together....

Even Daddy got into cupcake night!

We even let baby Kaylee try a lick of frosting. She was in love at first lick. She only got one little lick, we didn't want to make her sick.

You boys made a huge cupcake mess and we had to take you straight to the shower, but we had a fun night! I love you guys so much! Thanks for a great time tonight.

Bounce House- Best Investment EVER!

Dear Kaylee,
I miss you so much. Since I've gone back to work I don't feel like I ever get to spend time with you. I slept with you in the chair last night until 1 am just because I wanted to hold you. I don't think you minded one bit. You are the happiest, easiest baby in the whole world! You just want to be fed and loved on which we can do plenty of!
You had your four month appointment yesterday. You are 16 lbs. Dr. Steele never tells us what percentile you guys are in. He always says that you are who you are. He told us yesterday! He said that you've jumped to the 95th percentile in your weight and that we have to watch that! So... you got put on another baby diet. You are only allowed to have 30 ounces a day. Which you would think would be more than enough, but it isn't. You still want more. Tomorrow will be easier for you though. The first day of a diet is always tough! You're in 6 month clothes and getting ready to go into 9 month outfits! Dr. Steele said you're going to be tall. You're in the 75th percentile for your height.
Daddy said that today you got to play in the bounce house when the boys were napping! He said you loved it! The bounce house was suppose to be for special occasions, but the boys are constantly asking for it and you like it now too! I guess it's a permanent fixture of the playroom for awhile. Whatever makes you happy!
I love you sweetie, I can't wait until I don't have to go to work anymore. I'll just stay and cuddle you all day- as long as you'll let me anyways!

Spikes Journal

I got to play today! Oh what a great day. Hunter asked if he could play with me. Daddy was so excited he brought me right down. Hunter began crying immediatly. Connor just sat very still right next to Daddy. What was really fun was the new one called Kaylee. She loved me! I stood up and roared loud, let my lights blink strong, and stomped around the room. The whole time she just watched me in amazement! It wasn't until I started walking away from her that she started crying. I guess she wasn't done watching me! Hunter got pretty worked up so I eventually had to go back to sleep, but after months and months of sitting in the dark closet...there's hope!

Hunter upset because I woke up.... Connor just sitting very still.

Kaylee getting a kick out of my lights and my loud ROAR!

Hunter getting more upset by the minute

Kaylee still watching my every move!

Hunter...really worked up now.

Kaylee.... really angry that I had to go back into the closet!

My beautiful babies

No letter today! I just wanted to share pictures from this weekend. We spent time at Grammy's Sunday evening and had a great time. When I was looking at the pictures I felt so blessed to have such BEAUTIFUL babies.

Swimming in Grammy's Hot Tub@

Connor loves the hot tub

Look at that cubby baby!

Love this picture!

Kaylee loves to play in the hot tub too!

Blurry, but adorable! His first 4 wheeler ride.

Connor was much more serious on his ride, but
he did take a time out to wave.

Rice...

Dear Hunter and Connor,

I don't know what I'm going to do with you two! You're tall enough to reach everything and you're skilled enough to open everything! Nothing is safe in our house. We've tried the baby proof latches and you just bust right through them. Today's incident about sent me over the edge. I was taking care of baby Kaylee. You two were being quiet, which should have been my first clue that you were up to something, but I was distracted so I didn't pay much attention to that small detail. Then I heard the phrase that makes me cringe-

"Connow, Come here, look!"

Anything that is worth calling your brother over to come see is pretty much always something that's worth a time out. I walked over to see what was going on. At first I saw about a handful of rice on the coffee table. I thought you had gotten into the rice and pulled out a few handfuls. As I rounded the corner I saw what really happened. Hunter had taken a Costco sized box of rice and dumped it out in the hallway. All of it. So. I called my Mom.

"Where are you? I'm going to lose it!"

She was right down the road on her way to see us. By the time she got here a few minutes later I was trying to stop baby Kaylee from screaming and trying to keep you from throwing handfuls of rice at each other. I handed Kaylee to Grammy and I made you two vacuum up the rice. You did a pretty good job. Connor is a little more aggressive with the vacuum and was able to get more rice out of the carpet. I ended up finishing the job for you... it was a lot of rice.

I wish I could say wait until you have a two year old, but then I'm pretty sure I'd get a call, "MOM, WHERE ARE YOU?"

It's amazing that we never stop needing our moms. It's relieving in a way because I would be so sad if ever a day came when you didn't truly need me.

I love you,
Mommy

You spilled enough rice to feed a small village for a week!

You knew you were in trouble!

It's hard work cleaning up!

Allens One, Devil Zero

Dear Kaylee,
What a day! We had your dedication at church today. It ended up being a fantastic day but it started out pretty rough. We got up at 6:30 this morning. You were giggling and smiling like crazy. You watched your mobile and I watched you. It was so sweet. Daddy made us a big Mother's Day breakfast and then the chaos began. We had to give your brothers a bath, dress them in their suits, Daddy had a shower, you had a bath, Mommy had a shower, packed diaper bags, wrapped presents and signed cards, and then it was time for the final touch- putting on your dress. As I was buttoning your onesie I noticed that your nails were long. I wanted you to look your best and we were doing pretty good on time so I grabbed the finger nail clippers. I had four little nails left when I clipped your finger. You started screaming! I felt so bad. I was trying to stop the blood and that was making you even madder. I couldn't believe how much one little finger could bleed. I felt so bad that I started crying. So there we stood at the changing table...crying. Then Hunter tackled Connor. Connor screamed. I turned around to tell them to stop, causing me to let go of your hand. You swung your hand up and blood went all over your onesie. You only have one pink onesie that fits right now and pink was the only color that was going to look good under your dress. At this point I called Daddy into the room. Daddy helped me settle the boys down, then he helped me take your onesie off without getting any more blood on your shirt. We got the blood out, but it wasn't getting dry in time. We were down to fifteen minutes before church was suppose to start. You didn't have anything to wear and your finger was still bleeding. I finally decided to put you in a little jumper. As I stood up to get it out of the laundry I saw it...blood all over my church pants. Your little finger was bleeding so much it had gotten all over my pants. This was enough to send me over the edge. At this point I'm sobbing because we're suppose to be at the church in ten minutes and I don't have any makeup on, you were not dressed, I don't have any pants to wear, and Connor had taken off his vest. At this point I looked at Daddy and said, "Game Over. We're not going to make it. We're going to miss the dedication."
Daddy told me not to panic, to stay calm, and to not give up.
So. I took a deep breath. Then I took another, and decided to kick it into gear. I decided not to wear makeup since I was still crying, I threw my jeans on, I put your jumper on you in record time, grabbed the diaper bag, and we all jumped in the car. You finally stopped crying when the car started. I didn't stop crying until we were done singing worship songs at the church. Pastor Mark called you up to the stage. That's when the whole morning turned around. Pastor Mark did a wonderful job. As I stood on the stage listening to Pastor Mark talk about the responsibility of parents, and praying to God for protection over you all the stress of the morning melted away. While I was standing up there it didn't matter that I didn't have makeup on, that I was in my jeans (again), that you didn't get to wear your dedication dress, or that your spongebob band aid stood out like a sore thumb (literally!). All that mattered was that we made it. We were at church, Pastor Mark was helping us dedicate you to God, and we were surrounded by family and friends that love us. The devil tried his best today to break us down (and nearly succeeded), but in the end we won. Mommy learned a valuable lesson today. The devil will do anything to destroy us. He did not want you to be dedicated today. Thank God you were, because Mommy cannot do this alone- especially on mornings like today.
On a lighter note... Your personality is shining through more and more every day. You think it is hilarious when Daddy says, " A cow goes MOOOOOOO!"
You watch your brothers constantly and we can see it in your eyes that you want to get in there and play with them very much.
You are precious. You are beautiful. You are a true gift from God.
I love you,
Mommy
You're starting to really like this toy...

This is you looking at the toy above, from a different angle! =0)
