I was thinking today about how great your daddy is and I thought that I should tell you about it, so that one day when you're a teenager and mad at us over something trivial maybe you'll read your letter books, come across this letter, and remember how wonderful we are! =0)
Your Daddy has been the best Daddy from day one. He went to the cafeteria and ordered a dozen or more quesadillas and cranberry juice when we were in the hospital. Not once did he complain, remind me how many calories I was consuming, or ask for a bite! (He knows how much I hate to share food!)
When we got home from the hospital he would work all day and then come home and take care of you until midnight just so I could have four uninterrupted hours of sleep before I had to pull the night shift.
He made you pillow bed. Which was a pillow on the couch that you loved to sleep on. He assured me you would not suffocate or roll off because he would sit right next to and watch you breathe the whole time you were on it.... and he did!
He always tells me what a great Mommy I am even when I fell asleep and dropped Hunter off the couch, or when I clipped Connor's nail to short and made it bleed. I would be crying and Daddy would list a dozen things I did well and remind me that you'd never remember those incidents. I can share them now, because you're toddlers and giving yourself far worse bruises and bumps just by toddling around!
Daddy will drop whatever he's doing to read you a book, pull you in your wagon, color with you, or sneak you a cookie.
When you lose your balloon in the mall, which happens everytime we go, Daddy goes to the counter and gets you another balloon.
Daddy never complains about how much money Mommy spends on the cutest pajamas, the new shoes, the pictures at the Picture People, or the toys that I think you have to have! He always just smiles and says how cute you are or how you needed that new toy!
Daddy helps you conquer your fears! He shows you the fish aren't anything to be scared of, you can get your hair rinsed without getting soap in your eyes, and brushing teeth can be fun!
He makes you laugh more than Mommy ever can. Which doesn't surprise me, because he makes me laugh too!
Most importantly, He makes Mommy happy! He takes care of our every need so that I can be a better Mommy and you can be cute, carefree, little boys for as long as possible!
Mommy loves Daddy very, very much . You do too!
I love you and Daddy loves you!
Mommy
Daddy with Connor when he was 9 months old. He loved snuggling at night!
