Rice...

Dear Hunter and Connor,

I don't know what I'm going to do with you two! You're tall enough to reach everything and you're skilled enough to open everything! Nothing is safe in our house. We've tried the baby proof latches and you just bust right through them. Today's incident about sent me over the edge. I was taking care of baby Kaylee. You two were being quiet, which should have been my first clue that you were up to something, but I was distracted so I didn't pay much attention to that small detail. Then I heard the phrase that makes me cringe-

"Connow, Come here, look!"

Anything that is worth calling your brother over to come see is pretty much always something that's worth a time out. I walked over to see what was going on. At first I saw about a handful of rice on the coffee table. I thought you had gotten into the rice and pulled out a few handfuls. As I rounded the corner I saw what really happened. Hunter had taken a Costco sized box of rice and dumped it out in the hallway. All of it. So. I called my Mom.

"Where are you? I'm going to lose it!"

She was right down the road on her way to see us. By the time she got here a few minutes later I was trying to stop baby Kaylee from screaming and trying to keep you from throwing handfuls of rice at each other. I handed Kaylee to Grammy and I made you two vacuum up the rice. You did a pretty good job. Connor is a little more aggressive with the vacuum and was able to get more rice out of the carpet. I ended up finishing the job for you... it was a lot of rice.

I wish I could say wait until you have a two year old, but then I'm pretty sure I'd get a call, "MOM, WHERE ARE YOU?"

It's amazing that we never stop needing our moms. It's relieving in a way because I would be so sad if ever a day came when you didn't truly need me.

I love you,
Mommy

You spilled enough rice to feed a small village for a week!

You knew you were in trouble!

It's hard work cleaning up!
