Pictures of Mommy

Dear Kaylee,
It's been a good day. Before I tell you about your first full day I want to let you know that today Mommy got her way! When the boys were born everyone took pictures of me in the hospital. I was in my gown, or laying in bed. I never had makeup on. I never had my hair combed. I was exhausted. I hated those pictures. I still hate those pictures. I wanted so badly for one good pictur of me in the hospital holding your brothers and smiling- looking cute, not gross! Today... I got my way. The nurse came in and got you for a hearing test and a bath. Daddy had gone home for a few hours to take a nap and shave. So I took the opportunity to comb my hair, put on a fresh pair of pajamas, and apply my makeup. When you came back my friend Leanne was here and Grammy. I insisted they take a picture before anyone else arrived in hopes I would luck out and get one where my face didn't look too swollen or my eyes too droopy. I did! I'm so excited! It's not often that Mommy gets a cute picture taken of her.

Ok... your first 24 hours.... Really, I don't remember much about day one. You slept a lot. You were in the nursery a lot having different tests and observations done. I slept a lot. Today I felt better so I remember more. We spent the majority of the day alone and snuggling. We had visitors for about two hours and I didn't get to hold you once! Daddy is here now and our visitors are gone so he's snuggling you. You're eating a ton! You're just like me, that's what Daddy says anyways. He says he now has two girls in his life telling him what to do and when to do it. =0) You don't listen when I tell you that you're full. In fact, the minute I say you're full you start trying to convince me otherwise. You chew on your shirt, you grunt, you cry, you lick your lips, and you make me feel down right awful. So... I always give in and give you more to eat, and you spit it up. It's almost a game. We're getting a bit better though. I'm learning that if I take the bottle away periodically and pretend to burp you- even when you don't have to burp- it drags out the feeding time. That makes you more tired and you quit eating sooner.
You're brothers love you. They both gave you kisses today. They can both say your name. Hunter was absolutely thrilled that Uncle Stu brought pink balloons today so that scored you some points. Connor helped Grammy change your diaper by bringing her the supplies and throwing away the dirty stuff. He loves to be a big helper.

Hunter keeps a pretty good distance still. He likes you, and he gave you an air kiss today, but he takes awhile to warm up to new people. Can you see that he's holding one of your balloons?

Connor wanted to hold you bad! He likes to give you kisses and I can tell he's going to really enjoy being a big helper.

Well, you're grunting and giving Daddy your cute little cry so Daddy is bringing you over. I love you and love you!
Mommy
