Dear Connor...

June 1, 2009
Dear Connor,
We’ve had a really fun couple of weeks! On Memorial Day weekend we decided to take a trip to the zoo. Leanne, Kendall, and Clayton came with us. You absolutely loved the zoo. We fed the giraffes. The zoo keepers gave us a twig of berries and a piece of carrot. We were standing there waiting for the giraffe to come and you decided to start eating the carrot. It was pretty funny. You really liked all the animals but you absolutely loved the hippos. I thought for a brief second you were going to leap out of Daddy’s arms and into the hippo pool. We also went to the aquarium. You liked it but it wasn’t as fun as the zoo for you. The hotel was really fun because you walked all over the place and you loved the elevator. We all went swimming in the pool. You were a little nervous but I think you enjoyed it.
We’ve been spending a lot of time outside too. We go to the park where there are sprinkler toys. You are adorable toddling around in your swimsuit. The swimsuit is pretty big on you so it goes all the way to your ankles.
We bought you some new toys. You stopped playing with the toys you had and I started realizing that they were all toys you’ve had for months and that they weren’t really developmentally appropriate so we took a trip to Toys R Us. We bought foam swords (you love to hit Daddy!), magnets for the fridge that talk and sing, Little People Noah’s Ark, crayons, sidewalk chalk, balls, and giant lego blocks. You were in heaven. You play with all of them, but you really like the Noah’s ark. A few hours after we got home you got into a huge fight with Hunter over the Ark. You were both pulling on it and screaming at the top of your lungs. Daddy got so mad he put the ark in time out for five minutes. You both sobbed. When he gave it back you both shared and played together. It was the sweetest thing to watch you both playing with the same toy and having a good time- even if it took sending the toy to a time out!
The funniest thing you’ve done lately was at Uncle Terry’s birthday party. Uncle Terry and Grandpa Jerry look a lot alike. You saw Terry across the room and walked as fast as you could up to him. You crawled up in his lap and gave him this huge grin. Within a second of looking at him on his lap you realized that it wasn’t Grandpa and you gasped and started backing out of his arms into Daddy’s. It was so funny. You had this look on your face like, “That’s NOT Grandpa!”
6 ½ days until Summer Vacation! I can’t wait to spend all day with you! We are going to have so much fun.
I love you and love you,
Mommy

  1. I'm so glad you are doing this! For the boys, of course, but also so I can keep up with what they are doing. Connor looks like a liitle old-fashioned golfer in that picture. Cute, cute.

    Welcome to the blog world!!
